G-Star RAW

For G-Star, sustainability is the key to the future of fashion. Paying attention to the materials they use to make their clothes was a first step. But G-Star did not stop at that, investing also in other areas, such as:

  • Transparency: G-Star published a map of the world and marked their production partners on it;
  • Being socially and environmentally responsible in the supply chain by contributing to the development of communities in the producing countries;
  • Trying to create as many innovative products as possible with carefully thought-through materials;
  • Analysing their own activities and behavior, so their direct impact on the environment is reduced.

Besides all that, plastic is one of the big issues G-Star focuses on. Their RAW for the Oceans collection transforms recycled ocean plastic into unique products. G-Star collaborated with Bionic and Parley for the Oceans to do their part in cleaning out the oceans.

Next to the collection RAW for the Oceans, G-Star invests in battling plastic pollution in other ways as well. They try to avoid the single use of plastic in all of their activities, and to steer clear of unsustainable and unnecessary plastic items.

In terms of distribution they try to be nice to the environment too. To reduce their carbon footprint, they use as little energy as possible, as well as working together with transportation companies that meet their high standards regarding sustainability and environmental protection.
