Babysoy

Babysoy’s story starts when one of the founders discovers azlon, a fibre made from soybeans. A friend of his had just had a baby, and she wanted to buy sustainable clothes for her daughter. The two like-minded spirits got in touch, et voilà: Babysoy was born!

To make azlon (which is also called ‘vegan cashmere’ because of its softness and elasticity), leftover soybean pulp from tofu and soymilk production is used. The result is recyclable as well as biodegradable. Though Babysoy is named after this ingredient, the American brand also uses other environmentally friendly fabrics, such as GOTS certified organic cotton and viscose from bamboo. The zippers in Babysoy garments have the ‘OEKO-TEX® Standard 100’ label.

Babysoy not only focuses on sustainable fabrics, but also supports the Jane Goodall Institute by donating a percentage of the sales of the ‘Janey Baby’ collection (which features drawings of endangered animals) to this organisation that works hard to protect chimpanzees and their habitat.
